St. Patrick’s Day is almost with us so time to send you a final reminder of the Kenya Irish Society celebrations taking place along with some other notices that I have been asked to share.

Kenya Irish Society is hosting two events this year – the Ball on March 19th and the Tara Trophy on March 21st.

2016 Irish Ball

There are still some tickets remaining for the Ball so please extend an invite to other friends and colleagues so that we can have a full-house again this year and raise more money for the various charities. We will have a sit down four course meal at the Hilton with a drinks reception starting from 6.30. We have a traditional band – Loki who will be performing during the reception and encouraging us to do some Irish dancing early in the night. They will be followed by Calabash and a DJ – so be sure to wear your dancing shoes. Jameson, Baileys and Guinness have been generous with their drinks sponsorship once again and we have a great set of prizes for the raffle. Thanks to Jo Troulan we have an Irish Rugby Jersey signed by the 2015 6 Nations winning team to auction. Tickets are 7500KSh and available via email to skegordon(at)gmail.com The Hilton is also offering rooms at 11,500 including breakfast for a double or a single on the night.

Tara Trophy

The 79th Tara Trophy will be played at Karen Club on Monday, March 21st and the registration response has been very positive to date. There are a few places still remaining but registration will close on Wednesday, March 16th at 5.00 p.m. The pin positions will be the same as Sunday’s final round of the Kenya Open so a great challenge. The Entry Fee will be Ksh 2,500, which includes Golf and Dinner and non-golfers are also welcome to join dinner (1500Ksh). The traditional musicians will also perform. For Entries or additional information contact Rina Hanrahan 0722-519722 rina(at)hanrahan.co.ke or Tom Hopkins 0702-863748 hopkinstg(at)gmail.com
